Torrance would be my first choice. I love the beach or should I say closer to it, but it isn't necessary due to the higher traffic and lack of parking. Living here isn't a place you can do without a car, so parking is something you should factor in when looking for a place to live. When we go out to see friends, I am always thinking about parking. If parking is too difficult, then they can go without me. The bus "ain't" cutting it "Round here". El Segundo would be my second choice. Palos Verdes would be lovely, but also $$$$.
