Yeah, check that- I meant to say top for inlet and bottom for outlet. Also, i'd rotate the muffler to pivot the bottom of the muffler upward so it doesn't hang down behind the car so much. Mine stuck out too much beneath the rear valance of the fiberglass bumper, doing a nice job of showing how crooked the muffer hung.........
I had a Fabspeed premuffler that I just sold. Nice piece of exhaust work which also did a nice job of refining the sound. I have run no muffler in the past and with the premuffler it sounded much smoother (if that's possible w/no muffler) vs. a friend who also runs no muffler w/ his test pipe. His sounds blatty and raw. He calls his setup "The Elbow" and the nickname's now stuck with him. He's created his own fake company called Elbowmotions (inside joke) with his silly muffler delete pipe that also provides "proprietary" anti-oil consumption technology, because 911s are known to use a good bit of oil w/track use and age of course. Yet his 160,000+ engine uses virtually no oil- somewhat incredible.
Agreed about the cost. That's the whole point of this exercise because alot of the aftermarket bolt-on mufflers are BIG bucks.
Nice job. I really like this same side in/out muffler for a car with the factory crossover exhaust manifolds. It's a simple layout for most any muffler shop to virtually idiot-proof the install!
