I thought that MAYBE I had a "lemon", but your experience (and mine) seem to indicate that there is a quality control/ engineering problem. What is particularly annoying is I paid more for this than any other cover on the market and the manufacturers spec said it was an all- weather , outdoor cover. Hopefully your car has recovered......if not "sue the bastards" .....after all, VW has very deep pockets. Cheers
