Two weeks ago I got a new laptop - HP ultraportable DM3Z. 64 bit windows 7 hone premium, 4 GB ram, etc.
I really, really like windows 7 thus far. I wanted to change what it does when I close the lid (do nothing instead of standing by instantly) and I just typed in the start bar "change what...."
and there it is, "change what closing the lid does".
It's really a step up in usability. It doesn't feel a whole lot quicker than my 5 year old core duo with a fresh, stripped down install of XP, but then again I don't know how much quicker things can get.
So far not a single crash. Wireless networking and driver/hardware connectivity is incredibly quick, too.
