From the looks of it, it appears that a tube was installed down the bottom of the thermostat hole, and that is where it broke thru the casing. I pluged the thermostat hole and blew compressed air through the oil pump end and filled the area with the break out with oil to see if I got any bubbles from it leaking, but it appears to be tight. I have a great aluminum welder friend that can weld it up just in case.

PS the black in the hole is the actual tube, the pic makes it look like it is broken open into the oil gallery.
