He said "thank god the shooter at Hood did not have an effective weapon or it would have been much worse."
A nonsensical comment, but what're you gonna do?
As a system, even if the terminal performance was mediocre(it was not), the Five Seven is still almost perfect for that sort of terrorist attack because of it's extremely high capacity and very low recoil, which would allow for excellent rapid fire multiple target engagement capability while minimizing windows of vulnerability while the shooter was executing magazine changes.
The guy has been around for a while on the net, he is a (Dr. Marvin) Fackler disciple, and has a tendency to try and shout down opposing viewpoints.
The whole stopping power debate is like the threads in PARF where the atheists and believers mean spiritedly insult each other for several pages and yet never come to any agreement on anything. There are no clear cut "right or wrong" answers or facts on what works best, just a lot of opinionated doctors and ex cops shooting mental bullets at each other.
I think both sides are right. And wrong. I also think there is a lot of unknowns, and that at this time "terminal ballistics" is still as much black magic as it is science.
