OK, condensed version...working in Accident and Emergency (ER for you yanks), 14 y.o. girl comes in very sheepishly...urological symptoms...subsequently found to have aquarium air tubing in her bladder...removed under GA.
Same night 14 y.o boy presents...cannot pass urine....subsequently found to have aqaurium tubing in his bladder...removed under GA.
The young lady and young man had catheterised each other with the same piece of tubing and had been alternately urinating into each other's bladder. When the novelty worn off, they cut the tubing, which, having softened on reaching body temp, withdrew.
A & E stories, any doctor will have dozens. Maybe we should have a separate thread for the medicos / RNs / paramedics on Pelican.
