Back when I was training dogsled teams, we used to really have to scramble for meat to feed the dogs. One of the forms of meat that we would feed when it was available was a slaughterhouse byproduct called slunks. Slunks are fetal cows, and when we could get them they would arrive sort of roughly chopped; typically a head would be chopped at the neck, then the nose/face would be chopped off as one portion and the remaining head (basically the cranium and eyes) wold be divided in half to create two more portions. The dogs loved them....mmmmm, slunks!
