I have a 2007 Sport Trac that I use as a daily driver and tow vehicle for my track days.
The 4 foot bed works well for me - just enough room for all my track tools, spares...etc. But it isn't sooo big that I have trouble parking it at work! The IRS of the Sport Trac gives it a very compliant ride all around, as well.
I have hauled various larger items with it - sure a bigger bed will always have more space, but it isn't necesarily better.
I wonder if that VW would ever come with their now defunct V10 Turbo diesel?!? That would be sweet!
