The car he was driving doesn't have all that much horsepower. As such, it can't really get into a very dangerous situation in snow even at high speeds.
[I have a slight problem with this though. Wi'll pretty safe, it wasn't exactly filmed in a farm field now was it? When I was 16, I used to take my dad's 1980 Opel Kadet hatch and do donuts and fishtails and all sorts of crazy manuevers in parking lots around Temperance, Michigan, where I grew up. the funny thing was...just as the 8 year old in the picture was doing, I was starting to learn from the crazy turns and the drifting rear end how to control a car without traction. I actually started to get pretty good. I suspect that this is where this little boy is right now.
The question: In order to get to this level of sophistication at driving an automobile when you are 8 years old...do you think that this is just a bit too much? I frankly worry about an 8 year old boy who currently drives a 2600 pound 200 hp race car, and might be handed the keys:
[Think about this now: HANDED the KEYS to what is right next to a full blown race car that has 550 hp and drives all the wheels!]
Just because some of his drunken Finnish relatives have done it?
I'm sorry, but this one is SCARY. Promise as much as they will, the parents in this one are STUPID. I'd never allow my child to do this thing!
