I don't know if Americans don't get it, the manufacturers think we don't get it, or if it's a "big oil" conspiracy, but what's there not to like about a fuel efficient, long lasting, and nice performing power plant. Given a real look at a descent (and fairly priced) example, I think Americans would embrace the diesel.
