Thats true- and quartz has its place. But the ubuiq..ubuyotous ....common Seiko mechanical diver is still best value real watch around- made by a maufacturer that genuinely makes does everything in their watches, down to the luminox. Its a tool, like a Rolex used to be before it became an aspirational "brand".
And have you ever seen a Japan only Grand Seiko? As fine as anything from Switzerland.
