The track performance is a good indicator as to how well the car will slice and dice whatever slab/travel condition it's put to. People with crotch-rockets know how nice it is to so easily blip on past a slow lane-hog. But they also know that doing so in the rain really sucks . . .and they are not going to be doing so with any passengers.
of course a 911 is a nice tool for many roads, but isn't super quiet or comfortable . . .esp. for more than two. My Cayenne, otoh, has made us a few trips to and from SoCal. Not only does it make little fuss about getting around whoever/whatever, it gets us there feeling as if we had only made a trip up to the store. ...fast, quiet, comfortable, non-conspicuous travel has it's merit. ...for some.
