All I can add is if you're considering a used watch you need to educate yourself first.
Decide what brand you want and start reading. There are lots of good watch sites on the web that have heaps of info.

I've always liked "Rolex" because they do everything in house and they are beautiful classic watches.

Pre Tag "Heuer" are great watches but difficult to find in good condition without spending big bucks.

"Tag Heuer" like my daily shown earlier are OK but these are not as good as the original "Heuer".
A lot of the components are outsourced in Switzerland to specialist companies that make only watch crystals for instance.

Do your home work and enjoy. If you educate yourself you"ll be able to avoid being taken.

Think of it this way. When you buy a car do you not research the car before hand?
Do you not know which are good dealerships and which are not?
It's the same with watches.
My father bought me a Heuer when I graduated from Prep School, before they were with TAG. I still wear it all the time.
