I can definitely agree with that. I suffer it myself as does everyone to some degree. For a few years I drove a beater Ford Escort to work in the Winter. I liked doing it because I saved wear and tear on more valuable cars- but I didn't like being perceived as a "loser" which, sad to say, happened often in that Escort.

I conciously try to avoid doing it to other cars but, for example, when I see a Prius moving slowly in the left lane covered with every Obama/Greenpeace/Coexist bumper sticker in the world it's impossible to not to think enviro-nerd.
