New truck isn't new anymore
A couple months ago I bought a new Ford F-150 XLT.
I've made one payment on the truck so far, it has 1500 miles on it, AND IT GOT REAR-ENDED TODAY!
I had to go to a seminar for work so I was on the freeway 2 1/2 hours later than usual (8:00 am), so of course it was a parking lot.
I was in the fast lane at a complete stop for a couple seconds, when wham! It really hit hard. Lifted the back of the truck up.
The car behind me had stopped but the guy behind him didn't and shoved the guy behind me into my truck.
There's not a scratch on my truck anywhere because the car went under and hit the trailer hitch receiver which amazed me seeing how hard the truck jumped.
But, I checked it out closer when I got home and the gap between the bed and cab is noticeably narrower on the left side than the right and it looks like the left rear corner of the bed might be a little higher than the right. Sux.
The car behind me was totally wracked on the front and back. It was an older compact so no doubt it's totalled.
The tool that caused the accident said he had insurance but didn't have proof so I got all his other info and was ready to call the police but I was late now so I figured it'd wait until I got home.
When I got there, I found a message on the phone from state farm. Turns out he was legit and state farm is accepting responsibility on behalf of him. cool.
the truck will prolly only need a little frame stretching but it WAS a brand new truck, now it'll be a repaired truck.
Oh well, at least no one got hurt.
