They sell boxes of 100 packages of unflavored gelatin in the grocery store (well, Kroger anyway). Mix 5 packages of unflavored mix to 1 package of regular sugared gelatin and you'll get something that will be fully set (gummy bear like) at room temp. And, it is edible, which might be an extra bonus.

Been googling that. Seems the diff between Jello and Gummy bears is the gelatin ratio so I think I can make that work.
Edible was/is a desired plus.
