Compression ratios varies by year and model from a low of 8.5: to 10.4: 1. As for the recommended octane:
From the WSM:
79-84 US 91 RON
85-86 32 V 96 RON
87-88 95 RON- Australia 91 RON
89+ 98 RON
The pump octane in the US is an average of RON(research octane number) and MON(motor octane method). Add 4 or 5 points to the pump octane number to get RON. The early cars only needed 91 RON so regular should be okay. The later cars need premium unleaded.
