And yes it is self-contained with it's own internal lubrication source. The bearings are misted with oil instead of flooded which provides the quickest spool-ups. This system is also more reliable as the hot engine oil doesn't sit and soak the bearings during hot shut-downs, which significantly shortens the life of conventional turbos.
