That's an easy fix, just switch over to Video 1
All kidding aside, that sucks horribly. My parents just replaced their DLP TV with a Samsung flatscreen and couldn't be happier. For some reason the screen progressively de-interlaced and eventually got so bad that it couldn't be repaired for less than a new TV.
