Trekkor posted about the tile job he was doing at my house so I thought I'd add my own two cents...
Maybe 15 years ago I had our entry hall, dining room and kitchen tiled in 18" limestone. The tile setter was recommended by the yard where I bought the stone. The installation was done poorly and the floor failed. Badly.
I met Trekkor through Pelican and spent a few days at the track with him. Two years ago he looked at the job and explained that replacing the failed floor was going to be a BIG job. I followed some of his projects here at Pelican and I knew that when I was going to replace my floor, Trekkor would do it. It took two years for me to come to terms with the expense of such a big project and the six week disruption of my house.
If anyone is looking for tile or stone work in NorCal, Trekkor is your man. He started and finished the job exactly on schedule. At the end of each work day, he cleaned the garage and work area completely. We weren't ever bothered by a lot of unnecessary dust and debris. He somehow hammered out 9 tons of flooring without damaging ANYTHING. The cabinetry, doors and walls were untouched. Trekkor is meticulous and careful. He is a true craftsman.
Trekkor did the entire job with another tile man, Tony. Despite the scale of the job, my home was never overrun with clumsy laborers. Trek was extremely easy to work with and explained each step he took carefully.
Sharing your home with a work crew for six weeks could be a nightmare, but Trekkor and Tony made it a pleasure. They are good company. Funny, talkative and always gentlemen. Yesterday my 9 year old daughter asked me where Trekkor and Tony were and I told he the job was finished. She was sad. She loved having them around.
I couldn't be happier with the quality of the work Trekkor did for me and we love our new floor. I just thought I'd offer a public thanks for a job well done and making a potential nightmare pretty darned painless. Thanks Trekkor and Tony!
