I think a counter at $5.5k is pretty realistic...
Is it a 2.0 or 1.7? It looks like a nice car, but high mileage (just a guess) and the rust repair history & lack of original F.I. pull the values down a bit. I like the int/ext colors & the interior tweaks, and with the repairs & rust repair (lack of original injection etc.), I don't think it really affects the value. At least most 914's seem to come in a decent variety of colors - sometimes I wonder what the dealers were thinking when they (seemingly) ordered only red, white, black, & silver cars in the 80's!! If it was a low mile original I think the custom touches would take several thousand off the value.
Most of the high dollar 914's (excluding 914-6's) are the '73 2.0's with original equipment & low miles in good running condition. These days it's rare to find even a mint '73 2.0 get into the $12k+ range (the economy is still a drag).
I had a really nice '76 2.0 with around 75k miles in Alaska blue I sold in the late 1980's for $6.5k. I doubt it would fetch $10k today (in the same condition), but who knows - it's still a slow market....
