correctamento - Monsanto has produced geneticly modified crops that resist Roundup (glyphosate) and sell those and Roundup to farmers, who then hose down the entire landscape with it.
BUT... evolution happens. Many weeds are now resistant too.
BTW - even a top chemist cannot figure out what is up anymore. You need a whole team of enviromental toxicologists, developmental biologists, biochemists, etc. - and they need millions of $$ and lots and lots of time to figure out a rough estimate of possible harms.
You have thousands of new chemicals and many can interact with each other to produce worse effects than one of them alone.
Then there are the sub-lethal effects caused by chronic exposure (as vs. lethal effects caused by acute exposure)...
None of this stuff is very well tested, and instead we have a huge experiment that is being performed on the US population, and I suspect our children will curse us for it.
