I looked at one recently but didn't think it would be big enough to transport the family COMFORTABLY. That is the key word.
My kids are 6.5 and 4.
Trust me, things can get old really fast on a family outing when you are cramped together.
My only advice is to really check out the rear seat area before making a decision.
Check out the Passat wagon with 4 Motion or even the Subaru Outback if you need something sporty.
If you don't care about sporty, then a minivan is the best kid-hauler, as much as I hate them they ARE very useful.
