I've bee struggling with smoking for a long time. Since I was about 17. I'm 45 now and I can't get away with it for much longer.
I think the first step is deciding that you really want to stop. And that's my problem.
I actually like smoking but the though that it will shorten my life is just horrible.
So I still smoke hoping something will change but it won't unless I change...
You can get and stay fit and still be a smoker...
I'm living proof as I walk for about an hour everyday and still smoke the stupid things.
This is something I wrote in another thread... (Political content removed)

I cant tell you how important that little bit of information was and still is to me. I've been struggling with smoking for a long time.
I hate that I just can't dump it from my life and because of this I thought it was pointless trying to get fit and loose weight.
But somehow knowing Barrack was a smoker, fit and successful made it easier to get of my a$$ and do something positive with regards to my health.
Anyway... Fast forward almost 3 years and I walk every day and have lost about 35 pounds.
I still eat good and feel great... The smoking is still there but I smoke a lot less now than before.
