do you really need a minivan? The answer is no, the question is do you want one? This purchase is no longer about YOU. My wife's friends and I were just talking about this very subject last Friday over dinner. They made fun of me because I was always the sports car and truck guy who pulled up in a Sienna. We went over how they can make do with a car and etc... I ask then if they could survive with only one bathroom with only one sink? Of course you can, but you want two baths. Yo don't need it, but you want it. I have a Land Cruiser as my daily. I live on a hill with really, really narrow streets. We were always getting crush by the Land cruiser's door which want to swing shut because of gravity. You have no idea how many times the door bang my head or my kid's. Catches my ankle too. The sliding door was a major factor.
Oh a bit off topic, We looked at the Odyssey. The cockpit was beautiful, remindes me of my S2000. If handle nicely too. The salesman was trying to sell me on that and how well it gets up and go. I wanted a nice comfortable vehicle so my kids can sleep without me drifting around corners doing power slides. I don't need a sports car of minivan. I found the Toyota was much quieter and a nicer ride. This is the KID'S car. Juat my $.02 to the OP
