Actually, my brother, who is an engineer but now works in sales used to travel on business to Mexico City as part of his "region". In talking with white collar professionals down there (and yes, there are plenty), the subject of illegal immigration would come up. He said that the professional types down there felt that we should construct a tougher border to slow or halt the flow northward.
I don't recall the exact details of the conversation but he said they (white collar guys) didn't have a very high opinion of the illegal immigrants.
