As a writer- please do not use the term blood poisoning. It would be like writing about a porsche mechanic that was killed with a wrenchy thing. There is no such thing as blood poisoning, nor is it a correct medical term. Call it septicemia, bacteremia, whatever. With a perforated bowel- just say he died of peritonitis.
