I find whaling personally repugnant. Having said that, as long as the whaling is at a sustainable level I will lose no sleep over it. No one makes me eat whale burgers.
I find piracy considerably more repugnant, and am surprised the Japanese don't simply declare an exclusion zone around their whaling fleet and use their navy to defend it. I would lose even less sleep over a few dunked Greenie pirates.
BTW, I am suspicious whenever anyone talks about any state sponsored activity being "illegal." According to which law? If a law applies in Australia, who am I to expect it to apply elsewhere? At worst, such activity may contravene some treaty somewhere, but "illegal"???
