There were no official factory widebody 911 models sold in '83 except for race cars and the occasional "Special Wishes Dept." car built for a customer who requested it. I doubt if it would even have anything on the COA specifying the widebody option. I have seen many claims made about this but none really substantiated well. Without an original factory/dealer invoice or Kardex supporting the statement, I would not put any faith in the seller's claim. There were many cars converted to widebodies in the aftermarket, but few from the factory. Does it have any of the other "Turbo" bits that might have been added, such as 930 brakes or trailing arms? What wheels are on it? At that price, there may still be good value in the car depending on condition and equipment, even if it was not a factory build, as long as the conversion was done to a high standard. There was a
similar one recently advertised here for $28K, with an equal lack of documentation. At $15K, it is less of a problem if the "factory" claim is a pipe dream.
