Speedo Needle at 240 after gear replacement
I completed the odometer gear replacement on my Euro '80 911SC. Everything went smoothly thanks to the excellent step by step assistance provided by the Forum Users.
Now I have a new problem. I reconnected the electronics to test the spedo but when I turn on the ignition the needle immediately moves CW to the 240KM stop.
I dissasembled the speedo to make sure the paper insulation was in place and not shorting the circuit. Everything seems to be assembled correctly but the problem persists. The needle is at the 10 KM point at rest.
Is this merely a calibration problem or is there something more serious?
Should I remove the needle, turn on the ignition and then replace the needle on the shaft?
What advice can you give me to resolve this problem?
Thanks
