It kind of looks like the PO used the wiring in the car, just pulled the terminals free from the original car-side connector, cut them, installed male/female terminals, soldered the terminals to the board connector and called it good. I see two pinkish wires conjoined at the terminal car-side, and I also see two pinkish wires conjoined on the pod, that's why I think the colors may match up.
