Interesting. What year Boxster did the engine come out of?
When i looked into this conversion around 2002ish, i measured several late '90s Boxster engines and they all were too wide and would not have cleared the suspension ears on the 914.
Hence my comment above about relocating those.
Did they change the dimensions of the engine over the years?
