I have one. A 350- 300 hp SBC 914. Where I live there are a lot more straight roads than twisty ones. Fun car to drive. Power to weight ratio is better than a Viper at a 100K less in cost to buy.
The heavier springs in the back take the fun out of driving it on twisty roads. My 70 914 1.7 car is a lot more fun on twisty roads even with the difference in horsepower because it has a more responsive suspension.
After driving the 69 911 E for the last two summers, both I and my dog prefer the 914 for riding in, but I like the flat 6 sound. So next is a Porsche 6 transplant into 72 914 I have sitting around.
