Sitting in the shop here, working on a POS mid engined formula car and a POS mid engined street car side by side (my friend's 2nd gen MR2 Turbo)
We just got h head off the turbo and got to see the carnage firsthand.
A valve stem decided to snap and make it's way around the combustion chamber, while the valve bucket shim exited the bucket and missiled around the cam box. The valve in the combustion chamber eventually found it's way out the exhuast port and down the manifold into the hot side of the turbo, where it wrapped itself around the turbine fins and seized the turbo, which finally brought the car to a stop.
I've got 5 days left in Missouri. Working up to the end of it all
