When I rewired my car a number of years ago I got a mostly complete harness from a wrecked car. That allowed me to replace any burned or bad wires and connectors.
I basically created my own new harnesses. I was able to use all the original wire colors, gauges, and connectors. While at the same time eliminating all the extra bulk and unused (and confusing) wires on my car. The result is very tidy and I can use the Porsche diagrams for trouble shooting.
Make sure to solder and heat-shrink wrap all the push-on connectors.
