Last weekend my neighbor kid, 12 year old, told me he was having touble at school, some guy was calling him gay, he asked me if that ever happened to me in school. I said no but if they did I probably would have hit them, then realized that was a mistake and backed of. Told him I guess that isn't a good idea, and he will get over it.
My wife of course said I handled it wrong, Surprise, she said I should have told him yes, everyone gets that kind of crap sometimes and I wasn't so I didn't worry.
She thought it would reinforce him If I said it happened to me too. I am not that good with kids.
