Here is the breakdown of cost.

OEM GM Goodwrench Engine, part # 12601056 $3182.
OEM GM water pump $206
Gaskets, seals, ect. $130
Mobil 1, coolant, oil filter $85
Labor $775
tax $286

I don't know if it makes a difference, but the 2005 is a flex fuel engine.
I had one other quote and they wanted over $4000 for the motor alone.

The truck is still just sitting in the shop waiting for me to make up my mind on what I want to do. I'm pretty sure I'll just keep the truck for a while now, so I would feel better replacing the engine than just doing the crank.
