Yeah I have the trombone and its damn hot.. so the thermostat is working.. I did not check CO but I adjusted it till it hunted at idle and than backed it off a 1/8 turn and it didnt hunt anymore.. so I doubt its very lean.. but I suppose it could be.. maybe I'll bring it in and have that set since I haven't a CO sniffer.
other than that Im at a loss.
By the way, with the retard line disconnected and set to 5 ATDC I have lost all tire spinning ability in 1st..

Sorry that I can't help on your heat. . .do you have an external?? I'd suspect thermostats for the coolers if all is mechanically well with the engine.
Ahh. . .you don't have external. . .still it shouldn't be running that hot that fast. My 2.7 doesn't even begin to get close to 180 even on a 90+ day here in Denver until at least an hour of hwy (45 mins in traffic)
