Farewell Romeo

I got back from the Stodderd swap meet today and let my two Jack Russell's out while I was unloading the car. A little later I went in to lay down on the couch and watch TV and my 13 y.o male came into the room to lay on my legs like he always does. As he was walking across the room, he collapsed. I took him to the Emergency vet and my wife met me there. It appears that he had a tumor that suddenly started bleeding and he was bleeding out internally. Realistically all we could do was put him to sleep. In the matter of three hours he went from running in the yard to going to sleep in my wife's arms.

Romeo was a hard-core ball player and tonight was going to be ball playing night in the basement. I am gutted that we didn't get the chance for one more fetch.

Guys....take you dogs out for a walk tonight, give them a special treat and hug them in the memory of Romeo.
