I hear ya. Long-story-short, I'm leaving for vacation tomorrow and could not find the sunglasses my wife bought me several years ago. I know a locally owned shop that carries Maui Jims stuff, so I head there first. I only know the Maui Jims brand because I worked in Peoria, IL for ~3 years. Anyway, I get to the shop and try on a few. EVERY pair on the rack was stamped
'Made somewhere in Asia'. There's nothing wrong with that, but I thought Peoria was as American as proverbial
apple pie when I was there, and I never expected a Peoria based company selling high end consumer stuff like $200-$300 sunglasses to be importing product from anywhere. Do we make anything here anymore?
