'92 was a completely different motor. Different injection system. And turbocharged. Not a fair comparison at all.
I'm sure your 1992 Toyota is as heavy-duty, and it's a diesel, right? Not. Both cost more. But your brother got bent over, so don't think those are normal prices.
My Camry's front brake rotor costs $13, my 2007 Super Duty's was $170. Seeing (and feeling) the two side-by-side proved why.
