Hmm...it must be something to do with US driving-license test being too easy.
I must humbly admit that i tried six (6) times before i got mine
(And no, i'm not a bad driver...never had a accident, never been charged.)
The thing is, driving schools here in sweden are trying to hammer special kind of behaviour in pupils heads:
- Drive defensivly
- Plan your driving
- Help each other
...plus heaps of other safety stuff.
Here, it takes time & money to get license, and it's easy to loose it.
OTH, I believe that americans depend more on their cars then we do, so introduction of tough driving test policy would probably recieve bad publicity in US.
