G/A has been playing games with the rules for the 997's. There is a reason (besides money) that TRG bailed completely on the Porsche sponsored Barber event earlier this year. G/A made them all go to sealed engines from Porsche (Carlsen Porsche in Redwood City was actually sealing the engines) They quickly bailed on that idea when all the Porsche teams running GS class bailed on them!! Too many teams spent a LOT of money and time developing their 3.6L engines to develop well over 420hp, then they are all told they will "get" sealed 3.8L engines (that happen to produce less than they where making with their 3.6L engines) That didn't fly!! They gave them back their 3.6L and dropped 50lbs from the cars.

You will see them running up front again, but many of us currently running with G/A believe the CaymanS is the way to go. The new DFI engines will need a few more years to develop (much like the 3.6L engine needed a few years to develop)
