Marlin lever guns are far more accurate than most will give them credit for. My 1895 shoots honest minute of angle with a scope on it and Elmer's old load of either the 400 grain Remington or Speer over 53 grains of 3031. It comes damn close to that with my RCBS .45-400GC cast from wheelweights and lubed with SPG over 50 grains of H322. With the peeps on it and my (now "standard") cast bullet load, I can't do quite that good, but it's still well withing "minute of moose" out to 200 yards.
