Being good enough isn't enough if there aren't slots available to step into. You are right in at least one respect though, they'd jump in in a heartbeat - for the money. There's huge money in NASCAR.
The racers in each series tend to be specialists in their own type of racing. Yes, there is some crossover, but for the most part, those that dabble in other series for a few races here and there don't do so well, with a few exceptions.
