(Duponts's words not mine)I would not recommend this product or for that matter any oil additive. A good motor oil changed regularly is all you need.

What is keeping my bubble inflated is the fact that slick 50 was the original engine treatment (NOT an oil additive - it treats the surfaces of the engine's internal moving parts). And while others have come and gone, they are are still going strong. I would have to disagree about good motor oil changed regularly is all you need. I guess that's fine if all you are looking for is 150-200K miles before it's time to junk it. But for me, I would like to preserve the good operation of my engine for as long as possible. Dry starts are really where slick 50 saves your engine. Without it, a little bit of bearing surface is lost every time the engine experiences a dry start (or looses oil pressure). It is at oil change time that this problem really manifests itself. Since the mahle filters cannot be pre-filled with oil, a significant amount of dry-running time is experienced before the filter fills up, and pressure is built.
