Totaled usually implies a cost of about 70% of the cars value to repair. Depending on the condition of your car, yes, a rear end collision could "total" it out.

Show some pics of your car and your damage. Just because they "total" it out, doesn't mean you can't buy it back and fix it yourself if you are that attached to it.

Depending on condition, They are $500-$15,000. Where does yours fall? How much was it insured for? Actual value? Just comprehensive?
