I think this graphic is somewhat misleading. It measures those over 15 w/ BMI over 30, what about all the fat kids that will grow into fat adults. I'd bet it's actually closer to 40% when you factor in the kids that are obese. Lazy all the way around. If they can afford to get fat they can afford to eat quality, nutritious food. They just prefer the taste of a Double McCheeseburger. This problem has evolved as more fast food has become available. Hell, you can't get broccoli or asparagus at McD's, those people can't even spell or pronounce those veggies.
It's a health catastrophe, worse than many other unhealthy conditions and it's completely preventable if people would just eat at home and eat using their brain and not their eyes. We're paying for this through the healthcare system, it's part of the reason costs are so high. Hospitals are actually buying equipment that is built for fat people and we're all paying the bill.
I'm disgusted by it, go to an airport and see all the fat people traveling. They aren't traveling because they are on freakin welfare, they have money, just too damn lazy to scope out a good healthy meal. No excuse for being obese, overweigh perhaps but not obese.
TV glorifies it with "The Biggest Loser", how about another program, we'll call it "The Biggest Dead Loser". Don't people realize this is killing them.
