Not really new. It adds a burner at the bottom of the kettle to help you start the charcoal. Have seen them out for several years at least but man are they pricey!

Personally have found chimney starters to be fool-proof and work perfectly every time.

The ash (sand if you're using briquettes!) collection system at the bottom of that kettle (also on the gold kettle model) is fantastic btw.

Well i had #6 adjusted perfectly but then just before i tightened it a butterfly in Zimbabwe farted and now i have to start all over again!
